Jeffrey Corbett is a highly experienced executive with expertise in the operations of investor-owned electric utilities. He has led large, diverse organizations that serve customers and communities across multiple states in both traditionally regulated and unregulated markets.

Mr. Corbett held numerous senior executive positions at Duke Energy, including as Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer and as Senior Vice President Distribution Engineering and Technical Customer Relations. As Chief Procurement Officer, he was responsible for the sourcing and supply chain functions for both the company’s regulated and commercial operations. In this position he gained a deep perspective on the commercial issues facing utilities and contract partners in addition to the security concerns surrounding supply chains. As Senior Vice President Distribution Engineering and Technical Customer Relations, he was responsible for all distribution engineering, resource management, project management, and lighting business functions across a six-state service territory. He also managed power quality and reliability strategies and activities for all jurisdictions.

Prior to Duke Energy, Mr. Corbett spent 30 years at Dominion-Virginia Power and then Progress Energy in numerous engineering, operations, marketing, and management roles. His responsibilities included distribution engineering, construction and operations, and the establishment of a power quality and reliability function to drive top quartile performance among southeastern utilities. He also is knowledgeable in grid reliability and resiliency strategies, including emergency planning and response.

Mr. Corbett currently serves on the Board of Directors for North Coast Holdings, the University of North Carolina Charlotte Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Society Board of the North Carolina Symphony. Previously, he served on the Board of MicroCell Corporation, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and North Carolina New Schools, where he served as Chair for five years.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1982.
