Talk with Texas RE: IBR Registration and Applicable Standards - October 14
New registration requirements for inverter-based resources (IBRs) that lower the threshold for IBR facilities that need to be registered with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) are going into effect. This Talk with Texas RE will cover the registration process and the Reliability Standards that IBR facilities will need to be compliant with by May 15, 2026, and beyond.
Talk with Texas RE: PUCT Cybersecurity Update - October 20
The director of critical infrastructure security and risk management (CISRM) for the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), Chuck Bondurant, will provide an informational brief on the commission's cyber outreach program and identify areas where the PUCT can collaborate more with regulated utilities to develop stronger partnerships.

Texas RE's 2025 Fall Standards, Security, & Reliability Workshop will be held on November 5, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Central. The event will be conducted both in-person at our Austin MetCenter offices and virtually via Webex.
Talk with Texas RE: TPL-008 - November 13, 2025
Transmission System Planning Performance Requirements for Extreme Temperature Events (TPL-008) is a NERC Reliability Standard intended to establish transmission system planning performance requirements for the Bulk Power System (BPS) that will operate during extreme heat and cold temperature events. Guest speaker Sun Wook Kang from Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) will discuss this Reliability Standard and how it serves electric reliability in the Texas Interconnection.
Securing Together: ISAC and Industry Collaboration for National Resilience - December 2, 2025
Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs) are an important component of critical infrastructure protection across a range of sectors in the economy. Texas RE will host a forum for various ISAC organizations, including the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) to discuss their shared mission as it pertain to cybersecurity incident response and reporting.
Texas RE Annual, MRC, AGR&F, and Board Meetings - December 10, 2025
On December 10, 2025, Texas RE will hold its Annual Membership Meeting and quarterly Member Representatives Committee; Audit, Governance, Risk, and Finance Committee; and Board of Directors meetings. The agenda and materials will be posted at a later date.

BES Protection System Misoperation Reduction Workshop - October 7-8
NERC is hosting the third annual BES Protection System Misoperation Reduction Workshop on October 7-8, 2025, in St. Paul, MN. Building on the success of the previous BES Protection System Misoperation Reduction Workshops, this year’s workshop will include presentations on the leading causes of Protection System Misoperations and mitigating actions taken by entities to reduce misoperations.

Dynamic Load Modeling Virtual Workshop - October 20
The NERC Load Modeling Working Group (LMWG) will host the Load Modeling Workshop on October 20, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. The primary objective of this workshop is to educate practitioners on the basics of load modeling and train them in the use of freely available load modeling tools.

BES Operating Agility Workshop - October 22-23
NERC will hold its inaugural Bulk Electric System (BES) Operating Agility Workshop at SPP in Little Rock, AR, from October 22 -23, 2025. The workshop purpose is to provide a forum for entities, across the grid, to share/discuss operating practices that influence/increase agility within operations.
