Guest speakers from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) will discuss recently released reliability assessments and the outlook they give for the Texas Interconnection. ERCOT’s Pete Warnken will cover their Capacity, Demand, and Reserves (CDR) and Monthly Outlook for Resource Adequacy (MORA) reports, then Mark Olson from NERC will provide details on their Winter Reliability Assessment (WRA) and Long-Term Reliability Assessment (LTRA) reports.
Texas RE Quarterly MRC, AGR&F, and Board Meetings - February 25, 2026
On February 25, 2026, Texas RE will hold its quarterly Member Representatives Committee; Audit, Governance, Risk, and Finance Committee; and Board of Directors meetings. Agenda information will be posted one week in advance of the meeting per Texas RE's bylaws. These meetings will be held virtually only.
Regional Risk Series: Artificial Intelligence - March 10, 2026
Artificial intelligence is identified as a moderate risk element in Texas RE’s 2024 Reliability Performance and Regional Risk Assessment as it carries risks that demand robust mitigation strategies in addition to having promise for applications in the electric industry.

Texas RE's annual Spring Standards, Security, and Reliability Workshop will be held on April 1, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Central. It will be structured around the 2026 ERO CMEP IP and Texas RE's annual Reliability Performance and Regional Risk Assessment. The event will be conducted both in-person at our Austin MetCenter offices and virtually via Webex.

Physical Security Workshop - February 24, 2026
This in-person event hosted by SERC will explore essential physical security concepts and technologies, including Design Basis Threat (DBT), Vulnerability of Integrated Security Analysis (VISA) application, and standards such as CIP-003, CIP-006, and CIP-014. Participants will engage in a hands-on lab focusing on the DBT and VISA applications, which will include a substation walk-down.
Grid Fundamentals - February 24-25, 2026
This WECC course is hosted in two sequential sessions, offering a holistic overview and explanation of the electric system, how it is operated and regulated, and why. We will review the technology, operation, and markets of a modern reliable power grid. The changes in technology and risks to the grid will also be discussed.
