TADS Load Loss Reporting

Transmission Owners provide quarterly data on their system performance through the Transmission Availability Data System (TADS), a North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) portal application. In February of 2025, NERC’s Board approved several changes to incorporate the collection of load loss data, geographical location data, and sub-cause codes for equipment related outages into TADS. Starting January 1, 2026, NERC will begin collecting data on load loss that meets the criteria defined in the TADS section 1600 (please also see the minor revision).

In preparation for this change in reporting criteria, NERC will host multiple virtual training sessions this December and potentially January 2026. NERC will post updated 2026 TADS data reporting instructions containing the criteria to the NERC.com TADS page in December.
