Michaelson Buchanan serves as the manager of security integration at NERC, where he oversees engagement initiatives focused on identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber and physical security risk to the Bulk Power System. He also serves as NERC’s liaison to the Supply Chain Subcommittee, fostering collaboration on supply chain security and risk management priorities.

During his tenure at NERC, Mr. Buchanan served as a senior critical infrastructure protection assurance advisor and co-chair for the ERO Internal Controls Task Force, helping advance internal controls programs and compliance initiatives across the ERO Enterprise.

Prior to joining NERC, Mr. Buchanan served as the director of information security risk management at Thomson Reuters. Mr. Buchanan earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Saint Leo University and an associate degree in logistics management from the Community College of the Air Force. He is also a Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) professional through ISACA.
