The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) issued a Level 3 Alert, Essential Actions to Industry Computational Load Modeling, Studies, Instrumentation, Commissioning, Operations, Protection, and Control to Transmission Planners, Planning Coordinators, Transmission Owners, Balancing Authorities, Reliability Coordinators, and Transmission Operators. The alert includes seven essential actions for registered entities to implement to address immediate risks posed by computational loads interfacing with the Bulk Power System (BPS). Taking these actions will help mitigate risk to the reliable operation of the BPS while NERC implements other pieces of the NERC Large Load Action Plan.

Only entities registered as the above-mentioned functions will be able to view and respond to the alert. However, the alert is public and may be viewed here. The alert has a response due in the NERC Alert System by August 3, 2026.
