Presenter

Jesse Sythe, E-ISAC

Jesse Sythe has spent 21 years in the electricity industry. From aircraft carrier reactor operator on the west coast to transmission operator on the east coast, most of Jesse’s career has been in operations. Jesse’s primary focus throughout that time has been on the improvement of operations, processes, and procedures through emergency response exercises and drills. Starting in 2013, Jesse coordinated GridEx II through VI at Eversource’s Connecticut transmission control center, managing inject and MSEL development, developing full-fidelity simulator scenarios, and developing action items following the exercise. Joining E-ISAC in 2022, Jesse now manages the entire GridEx program, including planning the exercise, delivering training webinars, and following up on action items and recommendations. With GridEx VII completed this past November, Jesse is looking ahead to GridEx VIII in 2025, continuing the job of preparing the electric industry for threats we face today, as well as threats on the horizon.

On April 2, 2024, Jesse Sythe from the E-ISAC will discuss the findings and lessons learned from the recent GridEx VII exercise, and what it means for electric reliability in North America.
